Tassiehospitality.com.au has now been live for 3 days and we have already made major progress in improving the site.

A simple statistics reporting system is now active on the backend of the members area after logging in with your account details. This will show you how many times your job postings have been viewed and also allow you to see the status and edit any job listings you currently have. The interface is very simple to use and provides you with an easy method of posting any vacant jobs you may have.

We are currently experiencing a small issue with our search bar in which the Google Maps API’s we are using automatically default to towns in the US if there is a town by that name there. This is quite frustrating for us and is an issue on Google’s end which we hope will be fixed very soon. Until then, if searching by town name, just add AU after the town to default to the Australian region. Hobart is unfortunately one of the towns that is affected by this but towns like Launceston, Strahan and Burnie are all unaffected by this bug.

We are also in the process of rolling out our Jobseeker’s registration area which will allow employers to view the resumes of potential employee’s who have registered to use this service. Resumes will be able to be filed under a particular category of employment and employers registered with us will be able to easily find and contact potential employees. This will be tested over the coming weeks and will be rolled out as soon as we are sure the appropriate security features are in place for sharing this information.

Another thing we are in the process of testing is cross posting of all vacant positions listed with us across all of our social media platforms. To maximise the potential reach for employers listing with us, and to ensure there are a variety of methods for potential recruits to see and find the job postings, we will be using both Twitter and Facebook to get word out about those vacant jobs as well as a number of other more traditional marketing methods to increase traffic to our service. Our Twitter account is now active at twitter.com/tashospitality and our Facebook Page is coming very soon.

So, if you are a Tasmanian employer seeking hospitality staff please feel free to post your vacant Tasmanian Hopitality jobs for free during our beta testing period. Our aim is to provide a low cost alternative to listing your Tasmanian jobs and we will be offering paid products in the very near future. But for now, try or site, give us some feedback and let’s see what we can do do help find employees or employment in Tasmania for you.

We have just launched our Twitter account which will be used to broadcast job openings as well as employment and industry information related to Hospitality and Tourism in Tasmania. Our aim is to cross promote all of our listed vacant positions across our website, Twitter account and our Facebook Page which will also be launched in the very near future.

So if you are a job seeker or an employer it is worth checking back here often and following our Twitter account @TasHospitality to keep up to date with the growing tassiehospitality.com.au community.
